Spit Hot Lava Disperse

    (select installation and detail images)
2022 | oil and latex paint on canvas
200 cm x 160 cm (6.5' x 5.25’)
Spewed white-hot rivers
Poured slowly into the sea
A flow which has not stopped
Cascading, creating a glowing delta
Described as a phase of stability
Sent out plumes of acid fumes
Strong winds dispersed the vapors
Experts said it would irritate the eyes
Especially in those closest to the eruption point
Liquid heat and ash melt snow and ice to form mudflows
Or it would simply warm up briefly
Jolt us from our apathy
And then return to slumber for many more years
