←		Viewfinders Series 2023
		2023 | watercolor on paper dimensions variable Site-based situations during travels in Germany and Austria. Being attentively in the moment and allowing these environments to simply overwhelm and wash over me. This ongoing series profoundly informs the compositions I create. It also makes me more aware of the ways in which the surrounding world is constructed and composed. Experimenting with combining paintings and exterior environments, using cutout paper shapes as a type of viewfinder—I continue to question how windows and frames contribute to vision-sharpening comparative looking at our world, particularly through the complicated lens and history of painting.
