Site-based situations during travels in and around Silver City, New Mexico

Experimenting with combining paintings and exterior environments, using cutout paper as a type of viewfinder—I continue to question how windows and frames contribute to vision-sharpening comparative looking at our world, particularly through the complicated lens and history of painting.

This ongoing series enriches a practice of being attentively in the moment within a specific environment. Viewfinders profoundly inform the compositions I create and help guide me towards an awareness of the ways in which the surrounding world is constructed and composed.
