Being attentively in the moment and allowing these environments to simply overwhelm, this ongoing series profoundly informs the compositions I create. It also makes me more aware of the ways in which the surrounding world is constructed and composed. Experimenting with combining paintings and exterior environments, using cutout paper shapes as a type of viewfinder—I continue to question how windows and frames contribute to vision-sharpening comparative looking at our world, particularly through the complicated lens and history of painting.
