This work emerged from a stormy day. As wind, rain, and lightning moved through the landscape, I thought about weather as a force that resists containment—something capable of tearing through frames, disrupting boundaries, and undoing the certainty of geometric forms.

The fabric was cut, dyed, and painted in response to that energy. Yet when the piece was installed, the storms had passed. Hanging beneath evergreen boughs beside still water, it moved only with a gentle breeze. The violence that informed its making had become a memory, carried in the material rather than the atmosphere itself.

The work shifts attention from the event to its residue—to the ways materials, bodies, and landscapes continue to carry atmospheric memory after the weather has moved on.
